Gas Nob Timer

Have you ever boiled milk? if yes then i am 90% sure that it sometime came out of the boiling container just because you forget to turn off the gas on time. Or even worse when you get all your milk converted into TAR: )
So can't we have a simple timer for nob which automatically turn gas off after certain time.
